Duurzaamheid zit volgens Iris Maree niet alleen in het kiezen van de juiste materialen die op een zachte manier met het milieu omgaan, maar ook in de gebruiksduur van een product. Iris Maree streeft er daarom naar om tassen te ontwikkelen die de drager niet alleen een goed gevoel geven over de duurzame keuze, maar ook zo lang mogelijk van genoten wordt. Zoals in hun eigen woorden gezegd: ‘Iris Maree ontwerpt tassen die gemaakt worden om van te houden.’

Hoewel de tassen een lederlook hebben, komt er in het productieproces geen leer aan te pas. Dit wordt geïmiteerd met Kayla-stof, wat pvc-vrij materiaal is. De tassen zitten vol van liefde, gecreëerd door handwerk dat heeft plaatsgevonden in een intiem en kleinschalig atelier in Portugal. Iedere collectie kenmerkt zich door een duidelijke stijl en verschillende texturen, daar Iris Maree zich graag laat inspireren door het moment. 

Om impulsaankopen te verminderen is Iris Maree The Rental Project gestart. Tassen lenen in plaats van eenmalig gebruiken, of juist uitvinden welke tas het beste bij je past. Zo zetten zij samen met jou een duurzame stap naar een betere wereld van morgen, waarin er alleen tassen in de kast verdwijnen die een drager uiterst gelukkig maken.

According to Iris Maree bags shouldn’t be worn once, to end up in your closet, but are here to be loved and used sustainably over and over again.

According to Iris Maree sustainability is not only about choosing the right materials and care for the environment as a brand, but also about the length of usage. Iris Maree strives towards creating bags that not only give the wearer a good and sustainable feeling about their choice, but love their bag as long as possible. As they say in their own words: ‘Iris Maree designs bags made to be loved.’

Even though the bags all have a leather look, they don’t use any leather in the production process. This is imitated Kayla-fabric, which is free of pvc material. All bags are made with love, and a lot of patience because all bags are handcrafted, made in an intimate and small atelier in Portugal. Every collection represents a very typical style and different textures, as Iris Maree loves to be inspired by special moments.
